Amazon India Introduces Credit Card Bill Payments IN 2020

Amazon India has launched a way for customers to pay their credit card bills through e-commerce payment arm Amazon Pay. Amazon joins companies such as India-based digital wallet provider PhoneP, Indian eCommerce payment platform and Paytm, and others that offer credit card bill payment options in their applications, Entracker said. The feature allows you to pay for any credit card bill through UPI or internet banking. According to Intracar, Amazon Pay Balance was not available as an alternative.

"As part of our commitment to our customers, we are constantly creating new innovations and new experiences to seamlessly integrate digital payments into different areas of use," an Amazon spokesman said in a statement in a press release. "This has led to the introduction of our credit card billing facility, which allows customers to complete a complex process with a single click using multiple payment options."

Users declined to say whether they would be rewarded for paying their credit card bills through Amazon Pay. In a separate development, Amazon partnered with Eco General Insurance, a digital insurance startup in India, in July to offer auto insurance in India. The agreement allows customers to access products with Amazon Pay to provide car and motorcycle insurance on Amazon's app and mobile website. Four years ago, Amazon launched its Amazon Pay digital wallet to increase online payments. Today, it offers a credit card and processes the payment for customer bills. Last month, Amazon reported that its 100 million registered customers in India now have access to more financial services. To attract new customers and sell a 13 annual subscription to Amazon Prime, a paid service that gives users access to additional services, the eCommerce giant has added insurance and gold to its menu.

Recent efforts, including a Seattle-based online retailer, headquartered in India's high-tech industry, headquartered in Bangalore, to intensify competition in most cash-based economies. Mahendra Nerukar, head of Amazon Pay in India, said the company aims to increase the number of Amazon Pay users. To date, he said, the company has signed 4 million traders.

"Obviously Chinese fashion designers are leaving pockets behind jeans because no one uses them anymore (for wallets)," Nerurkar said. "We want this to happen in India."

Banks, corporations, and even regulators now recognize the need to modernize - not just digitize - the infrastructure and workflows that move money and data within businesses locally and across borders. Together with Visa, PYMNTIS invites you to one-month-long livestreamed programs on these topics during the reconstruction of B-B payments. The Masters of Modernization shares insights and answers questions during a mix of intimate fireside chats and lively virtual roundtables.
