Top 8 Best Things About the Messages App on Mac

iMessage plays an integral role in the Apple ecosystem. We've seen users stick to Apple devices only because their friends and family are in iMessage. With each iteration of iOS and MacOS, Apple has introduced new messaging features and add-ons to close the gap with competitors. The arrival of the MacOS Big Tune in the big screen messaging app is a bright, much-needed change. Let's learn some great strategies for the Mac Messages app. The MacOS Big Tune Messages app has received a lot of upgrades and is now a catalytic app. This app will have the same features and experience with Mac messages as your iPhone or iPad. These include mentioned support, inline replies, pinning group conversations and more.

1. PIN CONVERSATION

The ability to pin a conversation sounds like a normal add-on, but it makes a huge difference when used frequently. You can now pin your nine important conversations to the Messages app so that they appear at the top when you open the app. For pinned group conversations you will see the memo/avatar of the person who recently sent an animated message around the pin which serves as a good indicator activity. You'll see pictures of the three most recent participants in the chat. Use a two-finger click in the conversation to pin and pin the pin option from the floating menu. Want to remove the pinned conversation? Drag it and drop it to the main conversation list.

2. CHANGE NAME AND PHOTO ON GROUP CONVERSATIONS

In the group conversation, click the info button in the upper-right corner of the window and select Change group name and photo. Add a name by tapping in the text field. Also, you can change the image by automatically sorting the generated images or by selecting an image from the Photos app on your iPhone. Apple lets you choose emoji from the emoji menu. Select the appropriate one for your Mac's group conversation.

3. Reply directly to a message

During long conversations, it is often easy to get confused when messages do not appear in chronological order as intended. Thanks, you can reply to a specific message so that the other person knows exactly what you are talking about. In a general or group conversation, hold down the Option key and select the answer you want to give. Our only suggestion to Apple is that the rest of the conversation should not be blurred when using the reply option in the messaging app.

4. Mention a friend

Messages in MacOS are finally getting that support. This is a long-overdue feature because it is now available on almost all other messaging apps, including WhatsApp and Telegram. @ By using references, you can quickly draw attention to the person you are referring to in a group chat.

5. Customize notification

In group conversations, you can customize the notification to alert you only when your name is mentioned in the group chat. When someone tags you in a group conversation using the feature mentioned, you will also receive a notification enabling the mute function.

6. Send gifts

Who doesn't love gifts? At least, we do. The Mac Messages app now allows you to search and send GIFs without an interface. Just click the iMessage application icon next to the conversation and go to #Image.

7. Use message effects

Message effects are an effective way to enhance a conversation. For example, you can use the loud effect to get instant attention from the recipient. Some of the notable massage effects include gains, fireworks, loudness, invisible ink, and more. Of course, you should use these appropriately and only with people you know.

8. Typing indicators

This is another feature borrowed from third-party applications and we are delighted to see its arrival in the Mac Messages app. The indicator will only appear when you are on the chat list, allowing someone to notify you when you type a message.
