Interview of Parinieta Ahuja

Interview of Parinieta Ahuja, Imaginations Wild Book Author

Imaginations wild, This book is about a super amazing girl, Anam, she is a young Indian girl abandoned in her childhood by her parents and later adopted by an American family. She was black around all the white people which always made her felt insecure about her complexion. Anyway, the main lesson I learned from this book is that one should always work hard for his dreams. The protagonist, Anam, always wanted to become a writer but to fulfil her mother's dream she pursued the career of a lawyer. In her journey of writer and lawyer she meets her mentor/ friend/ crush Mr.James Alias who helps her and guides her throughout. She loses her Mr.Journal which is also a very big part of the story. It is indeed a very interesting story and to know all about her journey one should definitely read it. The language used is simple the writing style is also amazing.

We have got a chance to take an interview with the author of this book Parinieta Ahuja.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I guess I have always been a writer. Growing up I have penned down my thoughts every now and then. There wasn't just one moment but there was a moment when I decided after having written this book where I felt like I wanted people to read it and that's when I thought maybe writing could be something pursued as a hobby.

How long does it take you to write a book?

It took almost 2 months to write Imaginations Wild. It was something I wrote for myself and for fun, so it was definitely a very interesting process and pretty quick too. I absolutely enjoyed it a lot.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

I generally pick up writing when I want to take a break. It is something that comes from within when I want to pen down my thoughts. I generally write the best when I have a lot going on. It helps me bring my thoughts and articulate them into a story. It is honestly the best way. It is relaxing!

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I think I have realized that I always want to wait a. couple of weeks to write an ending to my story. I never write a story ending immediately. I take some time and subconsciously wait for it to just come to me.

How do books get published?

For me, the book was shown to my literary agent, TheBookBakers and it was a process of pitching it to publishers from thereon. I was extremely lucky to have run into TheBookBakers and have them represent me through this process. I highly recommend them!

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

I guess some of it is research on google when an idea just randomly pops up. Other times I just starting writing and hope to make sense of it as I go along. Imaginations Wild was a result of both in different chapters.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?

I wrote my first book when I was 21 years old, in the summer of 2019.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I love reading, finding new shows to watch. I am trying to get into new and new things like investment and of course, I will be starting working a full-time job very soon.

What does your family think of your writing?

They absolutely love it and support it with their whole heart. They strongly believe in pursuing what you love so. it was never a concern for me.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

I think the support and the love that comes with it. The love for your writing and for your characters, from me and everybody who has read it.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have only written one book, called Imaginations Wild. And it is my favorite so far HAHAHA!

Do you have any suggestions to help someone become a better writer? If so, what are they?

I think I am constantly learning every day too. But I think one thing that I strongly recommend is to trust your gut and your story. Not everybody will like it but what matters the most is that you like it. and to be patient with yourself.
