How to Find Unlisted YouTube Videos

How to Find Unlisted YouTube Videos Without a Link

When the privacy of a YouTube video is set to "Unlisted", you will not find the video by searching or browsing YouTube, only those who have a link to the video can view it. And as of July 2021, all unlisted YouTube videos uploaded before 2017 were set to be private, which greatly reduced the number of unlisted YouTube videos available. Although you can't find a specific unlisted YouTube video without a link, you can browse other unlisted videos by browsing the playlist or using an archive site like Listed Videos. If you're looking for your own unlisted videos, you're in luck. They're easy to find in the YouTube Studio Editor.

Can I search for other people's unlisted videos?

Unlisted videos will not appear in search results on YouTube or Google.

The only exception is if someone shares that unlisted video publicly, such as on Twitter, in a blog post, or on a forum. But there are still some options to cover unlisted videos:

See https://unlistedvideos.com. Listed videos is a huge archive of unlisted YouTube videos, including many from 2016 and earlier. You can search or browse over 600,000 unlisted YouTube videos on this site

Browse people's YouTube playlists. People often add their unlisted videos to their own playlists, which makes them easier to find even if they are not searchable through YouTube or Google. You can view a public playlist on YouTube by clicking on a person's name and selecting the Playlists tab.

Why are so many unlisted videos now private?

YouTube has personalized all unlisted videos uploaded before January 2017

If you have bookmarked an old video that is not listed or embedded it on a website or presentation, it is likely that it has stopped working since July 2021.

The owner of the video can switch it unlisted (or make it public) again to regain access to the video. But if the owner does not do so, the video will remain private forever (or until they change it).

The videos you list are easy to find in YouTube Studio.

Here's how to find them:

Log in to YouTube Studio.

Click the Content tab.

Click the funnel icon at the top of the video list and select Visibility.

Choose not listed as the type of visibility.

Since any unlisted videos that you uploaded before 2017 were marked as private in July 2021, you can find them by selecting Private from the Visibility folder instead.
