1. Re-activate your mouse

Windows may have disabled your mouse when upgrading from a previous version or when your computer is in sleep mode. This will make your mouse unusable and your mouse cursor will disappear.

There are two ways you can reactivate your mouse:

A: If you use a laptop, you should try pressing a key combination on your laptop keyboard that can turn your mouse on / off. Typically, this is the Fn key plus F3, F5, F9 or F11 (it depends on the manufacturer of your laptop and you may need to consult your laptop manual to find out).

B. You can activate your mouse in mouse settings. Not so:

1) Press the Win key on your keyboard, then type "mouse". When you see "Mouse Settings" in the top menu, press the up or down arrow on your keyboard to highlight it, then press Enter.

2) In the mouse settings, press the tab on your keyboard until additional mouse options (under related settings) are highlighted. Press Enter on your keyboard to select it.

3) In the Mouse Properties window, press the tab on your keyboard until the button tab is highlighted in the window (with a dotted border.)

4) Press the right arrow key on your keyboard until the device settings are opened in the window. (The name of this tab may vary depending on the mouse you are using.)

5) If your device is disabled, press Tab on your keyboard until the Enable button is highlighted and press Enter to enable the device.

6) If this method solves the problem, you will be able to see your mouse pointer again.

3. Switch to ChromeOS

Windows is a very old technology. Of course, Windows 10 is relatively new, but it's still the latest iteration of a decade-old operating system, designed for a bygone era (pre-Internet).

We now have the Internet, fast connection speeds, free cloud storage, and endless web apps (like Gmail, Google Docs, Slack, Facebook, Dropbox, and Spotify) all the way to Windows - storage with locally installed programs and local files - Completely old.

Why is that a problem? Because when you are constantly installing uncontrolled third party programs, you are constantly opening the door to viruses and other malware. (And Windows's insecure permissions system makes this problem even more complicated.)

Also the way Windows handles the installed software and hardware has always been a problem. If your computer shuts down unexpectedly, or a program is incorrectly installed, uninstalled or updated, you may get 'registry' corruption. This is why Windows PCs are always slow and become unstable over time.

Also, since everything is installed and stored locally, it doesn't take long for your disk to run out of space and your disk becomes fragmented, which makes everything slower and more unstable.

For most people, the easiest way to solve Windows problems is to eliminate Windows altogether and switch to a faster, more reliable, more secure, easier to use and cheaper operating system.

Google ChromeOS

ChromeOS looks a lot like Windows, but instead of emailing, chatting, browsing the Internet, writing documents, attending school, creating spreadsheets, and installing lots of programs for everything you normally do on a computer, you use the web app. You do not have to install anything.
