To import data from the web into Microsoft Excel, you need to meet two requirements:

Microsoft Excel Version: Supports power query data import. Through power queries, Excel users can connect, convert, merge and load data. However, Power Query is only available in Excel for Microsoft 365, Excel 2021, Excel 2019, Excel 2016, Excel 2013, and Excel 2010.
Data Format: When importing data from the web into Microsoft Excel, the data must be embedded in tabular format or in an HTML table. If the data is not in the table, the power query will not mark it.

Using the Power Query feature in Microsoft Excel, you can import data to a worksheet presented in tabular form on a website. Here's how it works.

Step 1: Launch Microsoft Excel on your computer.

Step 2: At the top ribbon interface, click on Data.

Step 3: Get and convert data In the title group, select From Web.

Step 4: In the popup window with the label from the web, enter the URL of the webpage in the address text box.

Step 5: After pasting the link, click Ok to load the webpage in the browser.

Step 6:: Microsoft Excel will ask you to re-confirm the data you want to load from the website, click Connect to confirm.

Step 7: Once the Microsoft Excel data is loaded, you will see a navigator window. Select a table listed under Navigator to check if your data has been imported.

Step 1: Launch the worksheet attached to the webpage.

Step 2: Click on the table.

Step 3: From the ribbon, click on Table Design.

Step 4: In the External Table Data group, click the Refresh drop-down.

Step 5: From the refresh drop-down, you have three options, Refresh, Refresh All and Connection Features. To set your preferences, click Connection Properties.

Step 6: In the Query Properties dialog box, click the Use tab to set your refresh preferences, which include:

Enable Background Refresh: This option is ticked by default and ensures that your content is constantly refreshed.

Refresh each: This option ensures that Excel only refreshes data within a specified period of time. When selecting it, you need to input minute intervals where you want it to happen.

Refresh data when opening the file: Excel file data is refreshed only when you start it.

Step 7: Select OK to save your refresh choice.
