Creating tab groups is easy. You can create them using pages that are already open, or you can create tab groups from scratch. First let's look at how to do this using webpages you've already opened:

Step 1: In the Safari app, click on the icon with two squares at the bottom of your page.

Step 2: On the next page, you will see all your open tabs. If you go down, you'll see an option titled "[Number] Tab"; Select it.

Step 3: When the next window appears, press the "[New tab group from tab" option.

Step 4: Your iPhone will ask you to name your new group. Type in the box and press Save.

When you create your new tab, you can access it by clicking on the two square icons at the bottom right. In the pop-up window, you will see a small bar named Your Tab.

If you have not yet opened a page but want to get ready for your future browsing session, you can create groups from scratch. To do this:

Step 1: Select the icon with the two squares at the bottom of your Safari app.

Step 2: Click on the New Blank tab group.

Step 3: Give your tab group a name and press Save.

To add your first page to your blank tab, look at the website you want to include. If you can't load the page, follow these tips to fix Safari not loading.

Next, you can press the two square icons and hit the plus sign at the bottom left.

How to use the compact tab bar

On Safari running iOS 15 and later, you'll notice a compact tab bar - a bit different from previous versions of the app. Although many users report difficulty using it, it is easy to understand once you get used to it. In addition to entering a website's address, you can use this bar to swipe between tabs and view them all.

If you want to scroll through the tabs, you must first go to the bottom bar.

Once you're there, swipe left or right to view your other web pages. Alternatively, you can swipe to see an overview of open sites.

If you use this setting in a tab group, you'll see all the sites you want in that particular group. Thus, it allows easy switching between pages.

You should turn on the Compact tab bar by default. However, if you have previously turned it off, follow these steps to activate it:

Step 1: Go to Settings> Safari.

Step 2: Scroll down to the tabs.

Step 3: Select the tab bar.

When you reopen Safari, the changes should have taken effect.

How to ungroup tabs

The process is not very challenging if you want to move your tab groups later. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 2: Tap the tab name at the bottom of the next page.

Step 3: Hold the group you want to remove. Then, select Delete.

Although the tab bar is a bit confusing at first, it is a great tool to make web browsing on your iPhone a great tool when you learn to use it.
