Bulk Delete Old Facebook Posts

Bulk Delete Old Facebook Posts/Page Posts - App & PC 2023

Once upon a time, we were all fools. So, there is nothing to be ashamed of admitting that we can have a ton of stupid Facebook posts since we started using social networks. We may not want everyone to see them, so Facebook lets you archive or bulk delete them.

Before we get started, bulk delete/archive functionality is currently only available on Facebook's mobile app (Android, iOS, and Lite). So, make sure you have one of the versions before you start.

The procedure for deleting old posts is the same for all three apps. So this is a bonus. Here's how you can do it:

Open the Facebook application on your phone.

Go to your profile, and tap the three-point menu.

Go to Activity Log> Manage Activities and tap Popup to say your posts.

Once you see the list of your posts, you can select all the posts you want to archive or delete and hit that option accordingly.

Delete or archive old Facebook posts

All archived or deleted posts will be displayed as labels in your posts section You can tap on those labels to see the posts in your archive or deleted

If you accidentally delete a post and want to recover it, Facebook will keep your posts in the Recycle Bin for 30 days. It is very sad that there is no option to delete bulk posts on Facebook desktop site. Hopefully, the company will launch this feature soon. Until then, you can hide all your sins under the carpet through the mobile app.

Delete bulk posts using Facebook in a web browser

The first step in deleting your old Facebook posts is to select the posts you no longer want (up to 50 at once). If you want to delete certain things, there are several ways to do this, including filtering posts.

Go to Facebook.com or open the Facebook app and sign in to your account. Select your name or profile icon in the top-left sidebar or menu bar to go to your profile.

Select a filter to narrow down the available options. You can select the specific year, who created the post, the level of privacy and the items you tagged.

Take advantage of filtering options to find the posts you want to delete. Filters are especially helpful for quickly finding old posts without having to scroll through your timeline.

Select the square check box in the upper-right corner of the post thumbnail you want to delete.

You can only select up to 50 posts to delete at once.

To view the full post on Facebook.com, select the post thumbnail. A window appears showing the entire post, so you can decide whether you want to keep it or delete it.

After selecting all the posts you want to delete, select Next at the bottom of the screen.

Select Delete Post, then select Done.

Permanent deletion. If you do not want to permanently delete these posts, hide the posts so that they are no longer visible in your profile timeline. Select Hide posts on Facebook.com or tap Hide from Timeline in the app. To unhide these posts, go to your profile's activity log and then select Hide from the Timeline tab.

Select the check box next to any content you want to archive

You can restore archived content at any time by selecting Archive, selecting Content, and selecting Restore in the Activity log. However, if you move content to Trash, Facebook deletes it permanently after 30 days.

Select archive. Alternatively, select Trash to delete the content.

Can't delete some posts?

You may notice that when you try to delete some posts, the delete option turns gray and you can only select the hide option. This can happen to specific posts, such as profile picture updates, posts you haven't created, or posts with special privacy settings.

You can delete posts that you are unable to delete individually using the post-management option. Find posts in your timeline, select the three dots at the top right of individual posts, and select Delete.
