1. Use the Group Policy Editor

Group Policy Editor is an important tool for Windows administrators. Startup programs can be changed, including password requirements, and other aspects. GPE is only available for Windows versions without Home. Windows Home users can go to the next step. Here's how to use Group Policy to turn off the lock screen:

Step 1: To open Run Box on your computer, press Win + R.

Step 2: To start Group Policy Editor, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

Step 3: Then proceed to the left hand panel. Select the computer configuration following the administrative template. Click More in Control Panel and finally Personalization.

Step 4: Double-click the Do not show lock screen in personalization settings option.

Step 5: A new box will open with the details of the option. If the active option is selected the lock screen will be activated by default.

Step 6: To turn off your system lock screen, select the inactive radio button.

Step 7: To complete the changes, apply and then click the OK button.

Step 8: You must restart your computer. You will notice that the lock screen does not appear and you will be immediately taken to the login screen.

2. Use Windows Registry Editor

You can disable the lock screen of Windows by changing the registry settings. For backup purposes, make a copy of your Windows registry. This will allow you to restore the previous settings. See our comprehensive registry backup tutorial. Registry lock screen can be disabled:

Step 1: To open the Run command box, use Win + R keys. To open Registry Editor, type regedit in the text box and press Enter.

Step 2: Now copy the path mentioned below and paste it in the text area, then press Enter:

Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ software \ Policy \ Microsoft \ Windows

Step 3: Select the Windows key from the left panel and make a right-click. Then go to File> New> Key and give Personalization.

Step 4: Select New> DWORD (32-bit) Value from the right-click menu of Personalization. It should be called NoLockScreen.

Step 5: Double click on the NoLockScreen value to set the value data to 1.

Step 6: To apply the changes, click OK and reboot your computer. When your PC is turned on, you will not see the lock screen.

Step 7: Return the NoLockScreen key to 0 to restore the lock screen.
