How TikTok Profile View Works
Anyone can view your public profile on TikTok, but by enabling Profile View, you can see the history of all your profile visitors in the last 30 days. That is, if they have profile view enabled on their account.
The profile view is a two-way street where you can snoop on others, and they can equally snoop on you. Fortunately, only you or someone with access to your account can see your profile view activity
Although profile view history doesn't directly show you the frequency of visits and how recent they were, you can still glean these from their profile visit activity. This is possible because TikTok updates records and ranks visits according to recency.
For example, if you have only visited three profiles in the last 30 days and user A is the third visitor in this period, they will be listed first.
If a fourth person, user D, visits during the same period, they will move user A to second position and become number one, until another visitor moves them to second position.
So, by a visitor's modified ranking, you can tell the frequency of their visits to your profile.
Note that a username will only appear once in the list regardless of how many times they visit within 30 days.
TikTok currently does not send any notifications about your profile views like LinkedIn does. You have to check it manually.
The only way to prevent others from viewing your profile is to block them directly, or turn off the profile view functionality.
If you turn off profile view, you will disappear from other users' profile view history. It's easy if you don't want a person to know you've viewed their profile.
However, note that if you turn it back on before the 30 days have passed, you will reappear in their profile view history report. Interestingly, you can turn profile view on/off as often as you want.
How to Enable Profile View on TikTok
Here's how to enable profile view so you can see who's viewed your TikTok profile.
Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom-right of your screen.
Go to the top-right corner of your screen and tap the icon next to the menu button.
Now, tap on the Launch button, and you're all set.
To disable Profile View, simply navigate to Profile View settings (Profile > Eye icon > Settings gear) and turn the option off.
How to see who viewed your TikTok profile
Once profile view is enabled, you can now see who has viewed your TikTok profile, if they have also enabled profile view.
Can't find the "Recent Profile View" notification?
Sometimes, people don't see the "Recent Profile View" notification. If you are experiencing the same, it could be for two reasons.
One, there are some technical errors. Uninstall and reinstall the app to see if that fixes your problem.
If you still don't see the notification, check if you have set your profile to "Private" mode? If yes, then you can't see profile visitor notification. This notification is only available to users with a public profile.
Follow these steps to set your account public and enable profile visitor statistics:
Open TikTok and tap on the Me icon.
Tap More options.
Go to Account, select Privacy & Security.
Under Discoverability, close a personal account.
Also, allow others to find me.
