How to See Who I am Following on Facebook (Updated 2023)

If you have a Facebook account, you know that Facebook has more than just friends. You can also follow people you are not Facebook friends with. You can follow celebrities or others who have public Facebook profiles.

If your account is not private, there may be people who follow you on Facebook. That's right, you could have a huge following on Facebook and not even realize it.

Finding out who follows you and who you follow on Facebook is quick and easy if you know how. With a few simple steps you can view this information and possibly adjust your settings to make Facebook work better for you.

What is Facebook Follow?

You don't have to friend someone on Facebook to end up with their posts in your news feed. If you follow someone on Facebook who isn't your friend, their public posts will appear in your News Feed, just as if they were your Facebook friend.

Similarly, if you've allowed others to follow you on Facebook, your public posts may appear in your followers' news feeds, even if you're not Facebook friends with them. And you don't even know it's happening unless you see who's following you.

If you followed someone a while ago, you won't even remember you followed them. And if you haven't checked your Facebook settings in a while, you might not remember that you allowed others to follow you.

It's a good idea to check your Facebook settings to see who you're following and who's following you. Also, if you don't want people to follow you on Facebook, be sure to turn off the setting to allow others to follow you.

How to see who you follow on Facebook

To see who you follow on Facebook, go to your home page and click on Friends under your cover photo. Then tap on the Friends section, no more on it. (No, I'm not making this up, Facebook really made it pretty confusing.)

A drop down menu will appear. Click Follow to see who you're following.

If you follow someone, you can send a friend request directly to that person from the following page (unless they have disabled this option in their Facebook account settings).

Android or iPhone

Open the Facebook app. Tap the three horizontal lines > Settings and privacy > Settings > Public posts

In the "Who can follow me" section, you will see "Public" and "Friends". Select the next one.

That's it. Now only your friends can follow you and others cannot.

This change will not apply to people who follow you in buying and selling groups and marketplaces.
It removes "About" from Timeline and "Followers" from "Followers". All your existing followers (who are not your friends) will not be able to follow you because they are no longer your followers
If you want to go back to defaults, follow the steps above. But instead of selecting "Friends" select "Public". Remember, this "follows", "follows", brings back all your existing followers and allows anyone to follow you.
