See Mutual Friends on Snapchat

How to See Mutual Friends on Snapchat

Snapchat is more fun when you start connecting with new people However, some users will probably prefer to connect with other people they actually know. As it turns out, Snapchat has a way to see mutual friends, allowing you to expand your friend circle to other familiar associates. Here's how it works.

How to see mutual friends on Snapchat

To see a list of mutual friends on Snapchat, you first need to go to your profile. Tap your Bitmoji in the top left, then tap the option labeled Add Friend. Under the Quick Add menu, you'll find a list of several users with mutual friends.

There is no way to see the people your friends have added on Snapchat. Privacy is a major part of the app, so friends list is hidden. However, the Quick Add menu will provide a random list of users that some of your friends have friends with. These can be users that your friends are following, or any Snapchat group you're a member of. The app will even tell you how many mutual friends you share in common.

The list itself is random, although it will fill up with new users on occasion. If you see someone you don't want to be friends with, you can use the X button to quickly remove them from Add. Over time, other people will be added to the list, including people who may be mutual friends.

If you send someone a friend request, they'll get a notification that they've been added from Quick Add. Aside from being added by referral, this is the main way to link to other people in your own friend circle.

Remember that not everyone will want to add a stranger, mutual friend or not. In fact, the person you add won't be notified that you have mutual friends at all until they try to add you. Otherwise, they'll just see a stranger add them to their Snapchat friends list.

What is a mutual friend on Snapchat?

Before we tell you how to see mutual friends on Snapchat, let's hold back for a second and talk about what "mutual friends" means. The simple definition of mutual friends is a group of three friends, where one person is friends with two others who don't know each other that well. So, in this case, both of these near-strangers are connected by a link to their mutual friend.

Now, coming back to Snapchat, why would you want to find a mutual friend on the platform? Well, there can be various reasons behind this, but generally, most of the Snapchat users enjoy Snapstreaks with more people. And instead of adding random strangers, some of them prefer to add those with whom they share a mutual link, ie, a mutual friend.

Open the Snapchat app on your smartphone and login to your account.

On the camera screen, did you notice your Bitmoji in the top left corner of the screen? Tap on it and it will take you directly to your profile.

Scroll down until you find the Friends section with two options below. Among these, you need to select the first one: Add friend.

Here you will first find the Add Me section with a list of all invitations sent to you. Just below this section, you will find the Quick Add section.

In the Quick Add section, you'll find a long list of Snapchat users, listed by name and username. If you look carefully at this list, you'll notice that some users have "x+ mutual friends" written under their username, where 'x' is any number between 1 and 20. This number indicates the number of mutual friends you two have.

If you find contacts with 20+ mutual friends, it means your people have a lot of friends in common and it's probably a good idea to add them. So, go ahead and tap on the add button on the right side of their profile.

It's also important to note that when you add someone from this page, they'll be notified that you've added them quickly. If you don't want that to happen, you can just memorize their username, type it into the search bar, and then add them when their profile shows up.

Moreover, when you quickly go through the add list, you will also see some names that you may have missed. In that case, you can tap the cross icon next to the Add button, and Snapchat won't show you their name here anymore.

Can you see the names of mutual friends on Snapchat?

Another important question that most Snapchat users have: Can I check if any of my friends are friends with this person?

Well, as much as we would like to help you with this, there is nothing we can do in this case. As we discussed earlier, Snapchat takes the privacy of its users very seriously and will not disclose these names.

Even if you want to take outside help in this regard, there is no third party app in the market that can do it for you. So, unless you're willing to ask this person yourself, you have no other way to find out for sure.

Yellow heart on Snapchat: Does it indicate mutual friends?

In the real world, a red heart symbolizes love and passion, right? However, the world of Snapchat doesn't work that way. In Snapchat, different emojis have different meanings. So, what does the yellow heart mean on this platform?

A yellow heart on Snapchat means you two are good friends. And yes, you can have a yellow heart with someone who is your mutual friend here. However, the fact that you two are mutual friends does not guarantee a yellow heart. The rate of your conversation with this person also plays an important role in this.
